Message from Leonid Shlyakhover, President of the Foundation

ШЛЯХОВЕР ЛЕОНИД

We Want Russia To Take Pride In Science

Russia is a country with a rich history of scientific discoveries of global significance. Today, our science continues to produce many outstanding researchers whose names should be known to millions of people.

In 2023, the Vyzov Foundation established the National Prize for Future Technologies to honor the achievements of people whose discoveries will shape our lives in the near future. We have assembled a Scientific Committee composed of renowned scientists and science popularizers to ensure the highest level of expertise and impartiality. Our laureates receive not only a cash prize, but also media attention, public platform, and an opportunity to share their research with a huge audience. The VYZOV Prize fuels scientific development. In 2024, the VYZOV Prize has reached a new level with the introduction of an international category. Now, scientists from all over the world can compete for this award. We firmly believe that science knows no borders. It should stay out of politics. Maintaining a scientific dialogue based on trust has never been more challenging, but it is an incredibly important task.

The Vyzov Foundation provides an independent platform for communication between scientists, international experts, representatives of government and business community. Our goal is to share scientific discoveries with those who can help turn them into technological solutions. Moreover, we want millions of Russian citizens to have better understanding of the current landscape of the Russian science and learn the names of outstanding researchers who are the true heroes of our time. It is crucial to let the young people know that science is a path to success, recognition, and fame, and that working as a scientist is not only interesting but also prestigious. We understand that talking about science can be difficult, but we know a way to make it more understandable and entertaining – by blending science and culture. After all, millions of people learn about scientific advancements through popular science and feature films, TV shows, and podcasts.

By bringing together scientists and artists, we create an environment that fosters the emergence of new creative projects that will help spread the word about scientific discoveries and the people who make them.
