Winter Talks by Vyzov Foundation

On February 6, the inaugural event of the annual series "SCIENCE. DIALOGUE. TRUST. Winter Talks." Will be held in Moscow. The "SCIENCE. DIALOGUE. TRUST." format is aimed at establishing international scientific dialogue with a wide range of partners, promoting the agenda of science diplomacy, and creating models of protected environment for communication.

Experts in science and diplomacy will gather to discuss issues of scientific cooperation and establishing relationships of trust in the international scientific community. The event, organized by the Vyzov Foundation, will take place at the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel as part of the celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The event will begin with opening remarks from Elena Eremenko, Vice President of the Vyzov Foundation.

The guests will be addressed by:
Mikhail Shvydkoy, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation;
Vladislav Panchenko, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences;
Dmitry Zauers, Deputy Chairman of Gazprombank's Management Board;
Ana Maria Cetto Kramis will address the attendees through video. Ana Maria is Member of Jury of UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in the Basic Sciences, former Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Head of Technical Cooperation Department at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

The first report at the event will be delivered by Pavlos Lagoudakis, winner of VYZOV Prize, Head of the Laboratory of Hybrid Photonics at Skoltec, on the topic "Science is agnostic to geographical borders."

Then three discussion panels will take place, named "Science", "Dialogue", and "Trust".

The first panel discussion, "Science," will focus on matters of international scientific cooperation in tackling global challenges. Moderator: Artem Oganov. Participants: Denis Sekirinsky, Sergey Kilin, Rudolf Valenta, and Aleksey Fedorov.

The "Dialogue" panel will be dedicated to maintaining international dialogue for sustainable development. Moderator: Elena Eremenko. Participants: Andrei Fursenko, Mikhail Kovalchuk, Thomas Greminger (online).

The "Trust" panel discussion will delve into models of protected space and trust in the academic community. Moderator: Ruslan Yunusov. Participants: Grigory Trubnikov, Ekaterina Solntseva, Pavel Velikanov.

The event will conclude with a report by Irek Suleymanov on the role of science diplomacy in the times of turmoil and a speech by Leonid Shlyakhover, President of the Vyzov Foundation.
